We provide individual, family, couples and group counseling services via telehealth
We use an online, confidential platform for therapy sessions and currently are VIRTUAL ONLY. You must be in the state of Virginia during your scheduled sessions. Our practice offers a complimentary 15 minute consultations prior to scheduling an intake to help identify which service you and/or your loved ones may need and how we may be a support.
Other services provided
Palesa Osei-Tutu provides individual and group clinical supervision for MSW supervisees for the state of Virginia as well as exam prep. She also provides consultation and professional coaching services to mental health providers whether they are new in the field or veterans looking to pivot in their careers or needing support with burnout and/or challenging cases. Palesa also provides trainings and speaking engagements in the community. Please reach out if you are interested in one of those services.
Insurances accepted
We are credentialed with the following insurances: Virginia Medicaid; Anthem Virginia, Aetna, Aetna EAP, CareFirst, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Optum, Optum EAP and United Healthcare to name a few. All other insurances would be considered out of network and a superbill can be provided. Please note that you need to check with your insurance company regarding copays, out of network reimbursement, out of pocket charges and deductibles. Self-pay and sliding scale is also available, please inquire for rates.
Individuals we see
Sit Awhile & Heal provides treatment to all individuals who are in need. We specialize in treating BIPOC communities, trauma thrivers, helpers/healers and men. We treat anxiety, depression, trauma, acculturation issues, compassion fatigue/burnout, divorce/separation, grief and loss and various other behavioral health challenges. We are unable to treat individuals who are actively psychotic, significant substance abuse, sexual disorders or eating disorders. We strive to always be ethical and competent and will try to support clients in connecting with the right clinician if it is not us.
